Had a few hours on Archie today, got his eyes back in! looks beautiful again Gave the quarter lights a run down and primed then a coat of satin black Gave the vents a coat while the paint was in my hand Got the new chromes and painted quarter lights in the right side cab door door handle and new wing mirriors fitted aswell! door was done so got the door card slapped on! so the full right side is basically sorted trimwise, got a guy fitting the screen and finishing fitting the nearside rear window as me and my dad stuggled like hell with it! So its all coming together slowly but surely
Had saturday on Archie, had a go at fitting the tailgate seal fitted the nearside chromes and quarterlights got the door cards, shineyyy window winders and door pulls fitted, which look a bit smart Awkward window seals and windscreen seal got fitted friday night which was a relief along with new grill and cover Indicators, vent caps and front bumper make Archie start to look the part lots still to do but he is getting there.
First off had to take a pic of Archie in the sun cos he looks so shiney and nice got him on the ramp and started putting the conduit in for speaker cables and the like . comes from around the center of the van above the heat exchange bellow, can just see it runs down the nearside chassis rail Through the cross members and will come into the cab through here got a cable in ready to pull the cables through so wont connect it till they are all in. painted all of the holes I drilled and added liberal amounts of seam sealer to stop any water! bit of a crap update but hey ho needs
Saturday tick list 1.Get the cables routed, conduit sealed and held in place. 2.Stonechip the full underside of Archie. 3.Get the interior painted. Sunday tick list 1.Fit the sliding door and engine lid seals. 2.Waxoil full underside of Archie. 3.Fit rear bumper. 4.Make a start on laying wooden flooring. Just a few bits to do lets have itttttt
Are you waxoyling over the stonechip or do you mean your doing the cavitys after stonechipping the underside?
Right then, the tick list haha Saturday tick list 1.Get the cables routed, conduit sealed and held in place...........Done 2.Stonechip the full underside of Archie...................Done 3.Get the interior painted...................99% Done sorry no pics as I forgot my phone Sunday tick list.......................Sunday didn't happen as I was very hungover Had a few hours here and there trying to catch up on the work I should have got done sunday over the past few days 1.Fit the sliding door and engine lid seals......Done 2.Waxoil full underside of Archie. pending... 3.Fit rear bumper. 4.Make a start on laying wooden flooring finnish painting the inside friday hopefully then start on the floor! Managed to get the indicators working, fitted a new relay and sorted a bit of wiring. Fitted the window wipers and found that they have decided to stop working so now I have to find whats going on there. Fitted Archies new badge with dia consequences, as I was drilling the last hole it pulled the panel and put hairline cracks in the filler and paint as you can appreciate at this point the drill was nearly thrown straight through the window, either way I put the badge on heres how he looks Took the left sides wheels off so my dad could buff them up and give them a coat of paint and fitted the pop top base seal so apart from that nightmare got on well, dunno if I should just wait till winter comes around again to re-do the front just fill it with polish 1 Step forward 3 steps back...
I was going to waxoil straightover the stonechip and then fill all of the cavities asewell or is this not the way to go?
Is it a case of one or the other? people have said to do both but I agree with what your saying no point waxoyling if it doesnt go through the stonechip!
