Done the ball joint gaiters. I would have liked them a bit longer, and a better fit on the narrow end, and a better wire retainer. Am I being unreasonable?

 

No.

 

Sounds typical, those features used to be so much better.

 

It's the same with parts for other makes too. I can't understand why, if you're going to remanufacture something, you don't make it the right size and shape. All the design work has been done for you, so it's not hard.

 

They don't care. If it's black and approximately boot-shaped, they'll sell it to you.

 

BTW, if you've got the boots with the single "concertina", they'll pop off as the suspension moves.

 

I remembered that from when you mentioned it in another thread. Yes, they are the double ones, but still, in my mind, too short.

 

Good luck! The ones I bought for my "spare" arms were useless.

 

The Meyle double boots seem Ok. They fit the Meyle ball joints perfectly ..

Bit of a crust there

 

Slapped a couple of coats of por15 on the back plates from @MorkC68 . Bought a couple of new return springs from one of the normal suppliers and couldn't get them on, the U shaped bits at the ends looked way too long so I cut a bit off and they now fit?

 

Worse than it looks to be honest , beam is toast but everything else is solid - spare beam time
