@snotty is right, get your steering and suspension checked, either by Alex or at TE, or both. Having said that, I really wouldn't panic, as you already know from experience, they do blow around a bit in the wind.

Koni's are excellent, my Boge bounce tested ok on the Bug, but the Koni's were a big improvement, sorry. I guess it's the old what you get what pay for thing... I don't know what magic Koni do, but, like you, I balked at the price for the Bay and bought Spax

Excellent. Might be a bit boomy to start with, but will quieten down a bit once it soots up. Still quite loud, tho'

 

I had to grind one of the engine bar webs off, but other than that, very easy!

Romped back from That Bournemouth in the dead of night, up a gusty A31. Didn’t get blown around - it can be done !

My fave time to drive…almost a whole motorway to myself…
