  1. Fitted some spiffy LED rear light bulbs. Not a great fan of LED-age, but they're a great improvement on stock tail lights. Look better in real life.

    Ignore drainpipe.

  4. Spent an hour today threading the cables for my spots that I’ve mounted on my light bar. I wanted to hide all the wires so it looked seam less once on the van. I struggled for ages to thread the wires through the tube tried all my usual techniques and couldn’t quite get them all the way through. Two minutes later on google and found a solution... put some string in one end and a vacuum cleaner on the other and it worked straight away.. seems really obvious when you think of it but may help somebody else out.... not just with this. But threading any cable in any sort of conduit or trunking, tube etc.

  8. I fitted the light bar today. When I first put it on the spots were to close together, I’ve spaced them further... but I’ll be honest I’m really not keen on them at all..

I’ll leave them on for now... see if they grow on me

  10. Been out and took out the head banger unit, think I have a couple of small leaks from where the rear part of the elevating roof is secured. Need some bigger self tappers as the old ones are loose. I would bolt through but the holes come through hidden behind the cross brace so that will be difficult/impossible without major surgery.

That’s a trick I first saw used for threading cables through mountain bike frames.

I think the bar looks ok to good! I think the aesthetics are out....the spot covers are too shiny and new, perhaps spray them with Matt/ brown/ black ?.

  14. Yep the colours are completely off I agree.. I came out for work this morning and took another look and it looks ok from some angles... I think
If it had a white westy roof it would
Work... (first ever roof swap, just to make some spots work :D)

Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery - I’m thinking of a light bar but with some KC Daylighters.

I think KC’s are a touch smaller. Not sure if that would help the aesthetic.

Your set up looks ‘tough’ to me.

  16. thank you.. I agree I really like the light bar on its own so it’s definitely the lights that I’m not agreeing with.

  18. I think they're too big, TBH. Are they 7-inchers?

A nice pair of Hella Comet 500s would look better, covers off (covers never look right).

You may find you have to grip them with mole grips from behind while drilling them from the front with a drill the same size as their clearance hole, or they may just spin.
