    Started repainting the front bumper.

Cleaned up and re-glued the glass on one of the front fogs that had come unstuck. Used a hot air gun to help separate the glass, then used it again on the hot melt glue to ensure all of the glue was really molten before dropping pre-heated glass onto it and then heating some more.

Stuck my hand through the hole I poked with my finger through the deformation panel and pulled out a good few handfuls of wet rust.

Poked the carburettor and decided something is blocking the latch on the choke so there is no fast idle cam operation with the choke on. As a result it idles at 500 rpm once it has warmed up for 20 seconds.

Will take the carburettor off tomorrow and look for the stupid thing that has wedged itself in the choke mechanism ..

Took my door card off as it felt damp. Yeap water is getting in somewhere around the grab handle holes. Membrane is in place so will see what I can do to channel any water over the grab handle holes. Thinking just another small membrane that covers it all.

Started him up for a run out on Christmas Eve (took a couple of goes to fire up after about 6 or 7 weeks laid up, but nothing too bad), and have been using him every day since. Because I Can!
Took him back to his work van roots today, with 10 bags of gravel and some guttering :)

BTW @MorkC68 the scooby engine looks fab... and given half the chance......

Thats wierd - the end of the grab handles are hooked through the metal of the door inner skin. So you have water running down the inside of the door near the top.
Maybe its the camber angle of the road the bus is parked on, the glass clamp to the winder mechanism is dripping water onto the inside of the door. Maybe that has swollen up with corrosion making it easier to drip on the inside of the door.

Replacing the rubber scraper on the outside may stop this problem more than adding membranes.

Usually that water should drip straight down into a channel in the door and then run forward and down through holes and out over the step.

  12. Thanks. It came with the window kit from Schofileds. I’m happy with the interior seal on the drivers side but the one on the sliding door side doesn’t seem the best of fits. I must take another look at it again tomorrow.

  15. Covid test in the bus... the bus was selected as it had the best tyres... not because I wanted a picture in the snow... honest.

  17. Yes
Well I had this bit of money and I was thinking to either make a little bonfire with it,
    or buy another ,
I went with the latter :D

I briefly glanced at it earlier today but decided to play with my new train instead  Sooner or later I've got to muster the enthusiasm to pull the engine out and decide what to do with it.

  19. Surely both options will give you the same result ?
The latter just takes a bit longer...

Finally found out where the cold idle had gone.. This lever was loose on the end of the choke flap shaft.. so the lever could go up a tiny bit extra... as a result it let the cold idle cam over rotate .
So the fast idle screw dropped off the cam when it shouldnt.

The engine will idle at 400 rpm but its on the edge of stopping.

Peened over the end of the shaft, replaced it and the idle went up.
