  1. Hi @nikkiwalker1984, I'm now about to go out so I've got to be quick, I'll read the rest of the thread later and see what help you need. I'm in Norwich. Are you on FB? Our club is Called Renegade Dubbers (Norfolk). If you join I can tag my Mate Dave who works on my vehicles, he's in Acle. Or there will be plenty of other good recommendations.

  3. Going to speak to old owner later but he's text and said I have a cone type filter and suggested that the pipes are more for old oil bath filters - however we are going to speak on phone later so he can explain the gases to me...

You don't have a cone type filter you have a pancake type filter.
The pipes are for any type of filter so that the crank case doesn't vent into the engine bay and hence taint your heated air supply.
I wouldn't bother with the seller; he sounds like either he knows nothing or he's Billy Bull5hit.

It would be quicker to fix the problem, than to bother speaking to the guy.

  13. Yes you're right guys, going round in circles and hearing different things from different people! So grateful for all the advice... Hopefully I'll have a light bulb moment soon!

Unfortunately I can't make techenders this weekend - trust me I wish I could ....

  15. Need to edit - just sent old owner a pic and we all agree it's a pancake filter... Sorry for confusion, I think it must have been changed since he had it....

Think I'm going to go and have a pathetic female moment and then give up for a while....I'm lucky it's even running

    To be honest it's irrelevant.
The crank breather should be plumbed into the air filter regardless of which type you have.
It really is a couple of minute job. Just get a piece of hose and connect from the silver spigot next to the oil filler, to the spigot which is hopefully on your air filter.

  17. I completely understand and agree based on what I've learnt reading everyone on here's thoughts...What I don't understand is why the garage and old owner 'disagree' so to speak - if it's such a small thing, why leave it off? Garages like money - they could charge me for it! They are losing money by saying not to worry! Can you see me confusion?!
