Here's a great book (really tenuously) about Carcasonne!

  5. I would recommend that every body does it, we took 3 weeks to travel through Holland,Germany,Switzerland through the St Gothard tunnel into Italy and stayed a week at a small family owned site on the shore of Lake Garda, then drove over the Dolimites into Austria then back into Germany drove up the romantic strada from Fusson through Germany back into Holland, this was the best holiday I have ever had.
The scenery the different places we swum in 5 different lakes, fantastic weather,
A late bay is for using so all get out next year and get abroad and enjoy,
    Steve,

Ps, if any body wants to know more about where we stayed please pm me ,

I love France and I love the French. Drove to the Jura last year, went to Normandy this year and planning on returning to the Jura again in 2013. Only difference is this time it'll be in the camper for the first time. So instead of driving straight there, we'll dawdle a bit. I've enjoyed reading about others trips, such as Baysearcher, the Tuesdays and Yorkshirecampers...time we tried it ourselves O:)

  9. Yes - just booked our summer holiday for next year:

Driving from Belfast to Rosslare then ferry to Cherbourg and driving to the Costa del Sol and the same return journey. We are going to be away for 6 weeks in total and we're travelling with our 5 year old and 6 year old. The only firm plan we have so far is a few days at Disneyland Paris and I want to stay in the Biarritz area for about a week.

Sort of half looking forward to the trip and half dreading it and I am afraid to do a rough calculation of the fuel costs, reckon we'll drive about 4,000 miles in the 6 weeks!

35P PER mile + repairs and fuel wastage on hills traffic jams say 5% should get you somewhere near! I think ?

best i've done is 36p a mile but usually 40p, therefore your 4000 miles would cost me £1600!

Autos a trailer enough equipment to survive a nuclear winter 40p a mile is cheap.

I work on 35p over here no idea of fuel costs abroad yet so guessing tbh.

  14. We went to the Belgium F1 in ours in September!
It's was a right laugh. We had euro breakdown cover and I'd done all I could to make sure the van was on the best condition. Sadly broke down on the way home just after the Dartford tunnel. But thankfully on this side of the channel! Fuel wasn't that bad I was getting 35 MPG according to my iPhone app.

Now I've done that I feel there is a lot more of the UK to explore!

    ;D
