Would you take your van abroad yes or no ?

  1. We are planning a trip to see family in France next summer. It will only be about a 400 mile round trip. We will do it in 50ish mile blocks. ( all on slow back roads and avoiding toll roads)

  2. Surely the whole idea of a camper IS to go travelling abroad. So that's a yes from me. ;)

  7. I think the whole point of a camper is to go camping and experience the outdoors and freedom it gives you abroad or at home :)
Wild camping is the real benefit of these vehicles.
Unless your Ricky and need about 14 amps for all his gadgets, heaters and hair curlers ;)

  12. yes.....we do

infact we flew to Linz in Austria with an envelope full of euros, and drove our bus home. the guy we bought it from gave it a quick service before we arrived and gave us a spare fan belt.....................our first drive in it was 800 miles across europe......no sweat :)

  13. Been to far of France twice and already booked the ferry for next year , the French are mad they love looking and feeling the old girl oh and climbing inside to have pictures taken whilst waving out of the window. Booking the ferry now saved us £150 squid , we did the Portsmouth to St Malo crossing as it sails at 20.00hrs and you get a cabin arrivng fresh in the morning at 08.00 ready to go and explore , we dont book ,but drive until we find a good place to stop at .This years sites included 2 chateau and a forest at the side of a lake , :)

  14. we are only an hour away from the ferry so the driving bit isn't that far

  18. yep... you can do a monster trip in three weeks. We usually head for the sun [south of france] this year we are going to catch some tour de france around lake Annecy.

would love to do some scandanavian countries one summer

  19. ;D

We did a couple of K around France last summer. Portsmouth to St.Malo is fab. Saw several other campers on our hols including three others on the same ferry. We never found a campsite that didn't have at least one other camper and some had several.

The weather was crap, but Bluebell is super cosy in the rain..it almost made the holiday better.

    :)

I drive for living so perhaps three weeks by the sea in warm weather would suit me better than doing a tick offf the countrys stint, i like to relax when driving my van, i do 400 miles most nights.
