I did like my old cavalier Sri but I will go with my Kawasaki gpz 900 ninja No photo but one like these
Has to be either my first car (VW 1303s) or the 1966 Volvo Amazon Estate. Built like a tank, drove like a Rolls, ideal for commuting between London and Glos ... and a house move ... MPG not anywhere near as bad as you'd think .... and now selling for roughly forty times what I sold it for in the mid 1990's Library photo:
I had one of those. My Uncle who used to work in the police garage gave me it when i was 12. Many a happy hour wizzing round the field at the back of our house Next one was a C90 plassy. Great on the pit tip. O halcyon days
Ace weren't they! I found a second one dumped at our local tip...dragged it home, new spark plug and drive belt and it was sorted. Had a few crunchies as well, ace for wheelies!,
TV200 Matchless 500 single Vauxhall carlton 1979 and strangely enough my Renault 14, the 21 wasnt bad either
I had a couple of mk 1 Escorts when i first started driving back in 78. Paid £200 for the first one. Wish I still had them. A barn find fetched over 7 grand on Bangers and Cash
Had a clubman estate as my 1st car back in 1997. 1293cc and 104 bhp. Was a hot hatch killer in it's day. Still have it tucked away in a relatives garage...
Yes bud, I knew two brothers that had them, one had a MK1 and one had a MK11 both were being restored but not sure if they ever saw the light of day again, from memory, one had an ally bonnet think it might have been the Mk1 Both were much faster than most cars our mates had. Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Maybe could`ve bought em for next to nothing
There's even a festival to celebrate it. https://www.theguardian.com/fashion...-scenes-from-australias-first-mullet-festival
It was, originally it had been built for Alan Hamilton, the Australian Porsche agent, and had a few features not on standard version. It still exists and is a regular runner at Porsche Club runs in Melbourne.
2 in a family that's incredible, those ally bonnets were made by a firm in Milton Keynes and cost an absolute fortune, the mark 1 Lotus at the time wasn't as desirable as the mark 2 but now it's vice versa
Mine would have to be my 65 MGB roadster. Mainly because it feels like unfinished business. I only had it on the road for a few weeks after buying it as a 'barn find' before a protracted and unfinished resto. Sold it for the deposit on my first house. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
I had a friend at college (hard to imagine I know) whose dad said he’d owned a Mk2 four door lotus Cortina that Dunton had tuned for the Met. Ever heard of that? I remember a Mk1 in Street Machine in the early 90’s that the guy had swapped the engine out of for a V8.
My beloved white Manta hatch. The Thinking Man's Capri. Here he is (bottom left) Up An Alp in Austria...
