Poor bloke, all that searching and still gets trouble - good luck Clive.

  2. The one on the left side was twisted believe it or not. I fitted one of the thicker gaskets (ie a proper one) and it seemed to do the job

  4. Im currently thinking yep - cover a bit twisted - crap gaskets and pushrod tube seals needed doing. Could have done with a good half day on it (in the daytime) really. Hindsight is a fabulous thing!

  5. I've had issues with crap rocker gaskets in the engine rebuild kits o_O And I always use the proper gasket sets!!

Currently got a load of gaskets on order from my American supplier, so we'll see what those are like when they get here!!

  6. I dragged three out of my spares locker two were thin weedy looking affairs and the third, which I used was much thicker and wider and what i would have expected to see. The ones on Clives were the thin ones. Oh yes - almost forgot - I turned them the other way around with the tab at the top!

Neil and Clive managed to blag one for the other side and did a temporary silicone job on it ( gave hime two tubes just in case.) sounds like the major leak now is PRTseals

As @Dicky says, PRT seals now the main culprit & Clive happily on his way with a gallon & a half of oil in his spares kit. Thanks all, esp. Chris for the leg work & everyone for their offers of help. Your generosity is overwhelming.

@Dicky & @Clive Neilands last night, gone midnight

Great news.... Just the journey on the other side now, where he'll almost be on his own...

Makes a change for a bay to be exported rather than imported....
