  1. what he said! also stateside will quote you on refurbing and machining your heads, they dont carry stock anymore and as such it currently about a month wait. They quoted me £280 per head for new valves and seats....

As far as I'm aware the case is the same and the lifters fit in exactly the same holes! From what I've read it's easy to strip it down and not notice you have hydro lifters and different pushrods.

Was this a big valve job or relatively standard stuff?

  4. That'll be standard stuff...

Your pricing earlier on the big valve 44x38 heads requires you sending Jim a pair of core heads that aren't cracked!!

Yep, the cases are the same, just the cam, lifters and push-rods that are different

  10. I wonder what the next main wind up is once i have my van back:thinking:

  11. That's serious money , I did my own guides ,valves and 3 angle valve job plus a bit of port matching . Where's the fun in paying someone else ?

  12. Not everyone has the tooling available or the skill to use it at home
Thats not to say certain things cant be done with a little research and improvisation

  13. Haha, you're welcome to do mine
    :)

  15. Indeed but cutting 3 angles into a seat and valve is somthing all together different

  16. That was fairly simple I still have both the cutters I made somewhere .....one for the 8mm one for the 9 mm shaft , basically a large valve with a carbide insert . Ok I did cylindrically grind the valves but a lathe and dremmel would produce same effect

However you are very modest as that is out of the realms of most bus owners

  18. Current turn round on heads, is around 6 weeks

All depends on my US supplier, and UK customs...
