Sold - I’ll transfer £12 and PM the delivery address but how does a plate and nut that is usually covered in oil get rusty?

  5. You need to make sure it leaks

  6. That set up looks much more sensible than my braised in stud malarky...

  7. This is what you should have the plate and the nut, the bolt is the shouldered bolt that comes through the case and supports your brazed bit :)

  8. [IMG]Bolt comes through the hole there :)

  9. Now I'm confused?..
The stud/bolt I sheared goes vertically through that oil pick up tube housing? I thought it was fixed into that braised bit....

I thought those were the wrong bits. You need a need a new pickup, the stud is part of it as seen on the earlier picture.

  11. Ah sorry.. That nut doesn't go on that bolt... That's the one on the the stud i broke thats currently full of stud...and the bolt livs horizontally through that hole holding the oil pick up plate in place... Should it rattle about like mine?

The oil pickup shouldn't rattle about though it will be fairly free as it's the bit you broke in conjunction with the case bolt through the eye at the top that holds it in place. If it actually rattles you might have pulled the grommet end out of it's hole.

  13. You got it

I might have a pickup spare, but you'd have to answer the long/short question.
All things considered you're going to have to split the case.

  16. If it rattles around without the case bolt being undone you have bigger issues than a snapped stud o_O

I managed to pull one out (my 1700) without removing that bolt, there's too much wriggle room.

  18. Thought it just had play to pull it down onto the strainer plate when you tighten the nut on the outside... Though not too much tightening..

  19. The case bolt goes through it ?

I'm wondering how I managed that, but I did.
