tiny and stephen get there first project and its a 20 millionth edition

  2. to day i had some very minor pin holes and marks to stopper , when dry i used 240 to rub back , then da ed the whole car with 320 , and with the high build primer being so thick it worked out great , i then wet and dryed it with 600 , i then noticed that the in side had been stone chipped some time before 42 years ago lol . and is a b___ard to da or rub so i masked the in side down 3 inches this is where i ll paint to and do the inside in 2k black ,

    hopefully will get it painted tomorrow owen nw

  3. well to day was a disaster for me , first colm and his mate masked up the car , adrian spot primed the areas i broke into , mixed the paint 3 to 1 , yellow is a ba_______rd of a colour to paint . started in side the car , it was like painting clear varnish , well it looks good but ISNT , but it will dod as a build up coat tomorrow ill reflatten and redo , rant over lol

    the clock just set in place makes a big difference owen n w
     
  7. Yellows and reds are a pain to paint
    Theres tintable primers available owen that make things easier
     
  8. pro painter recommends painting white first then yellow better to cover , yellow is a pain owen n w
     
  9. to day i painted the in said and most of the underside .refurbished the light bowls first wire brushing with the grinder , eitch prime 3 coats of black 2k , satin in the inside and refitted , also fitted the original number plates , and stripped and painted the roof bars owen nw

  14. to day went up to a mates and got the roll bar cut and shaped with his apprentice , i d never seen it done before ,
    he made a cracking job of it , and cut and folded the brackets to be welded on by me ,

    first he laid it on the floor and drew around it as a template

    he over sized it the cut it to lenght and cut an angle to match the ole one

  15. to day i fitted the steering gear for the final time copper greasing all the nuts and fitting new split pins , then fitted the clocks in the dash , followed with washing out the tank with thinners and cleaning more with a magnet , was surprized how much more came out , dirt that is . i then wire brushed it with the grinder, only to find 3 small hole s , 1 i was able to weld up the other 2 needed wee patches , followed with some seam sealer and 3 coats of 2k black , owen nw BEFORE SOME ONE SAYS IT I FILLED THE TANK WITH WATER

  16. to day my self and colm done a bit more , first we glued the body seal on , then he stripped the body washers with the wire brush on the grinder , i then painted them black , refitted the petrol tank and rewelded the support bar back on then painted that too,

  17. to day we hit a mile stone , the body s back on ha ha ha ha , well it did nt all go just to plan , had a bit of fettling to get the body totally lined up , then drilled out the the mounting plates for the roll cage , and the matching outer strenghting plate s, we trail fitted it all ,tacked the brackets , and took it back out of the buggy to seam weld . buffed it all down and painted it 2k black , owen n w

  20. u now me , i keep it fro a while then if some one wants to buy it il let it go owen n nw on the look out now for an early fiat 126 or 500 to restore
