I've seen one there before, but I don't believe it was standard.

This is the old clutch and we have a new one here thats identical in every way apart from the centre pad where the thrust bearing contacts, will this work ok or should or can i remove the centre pad so it runs on the clutch fingers? The van is a 72 crossover, the box with the new clutch is marked type 2 up to 1970, anyone?

    Thanks

  9. The centre pad is removable on some clutch plates. It'll be held in place with a circlip underneath if it is removable.

I managed to drop and break off the clutch pad on the new cover plate for my bug and couldn't get it back on. :(

  17. Still cleaning up parts and fitting them on and trying to remember how they went!!!! should have made more notes. I could do with a clear link of the rear of the dash showing how heater cables connect to lever assy if anyone could link me to one please. Heres a few pics, bit dark in the workshop for taking a pic.

  18. Very Sweet Fella -

  19. Your van is looking great, I love those windshield visors. Wish we (in Canada ) had a place to get those here. Makes your ride stand out.

I keep saying "baby steps" one bolt cleaned, one wire fitted, each one is one that's not waiting to be finished. Keep at it, you'll be driving in not time.

Enjoyed reading this, as hoping mine is going to look similar, but I'm edging towards Niagara Blue, hoping to have mine undersealed and the interior possibly painted over the Christmas holiday.
