The Restoration of Stanley a 72 Cross Over.

  1. Hi All

    Well i'm back!!!! gutted that site went down but if i ever get time i'll try and put some of the previous restoration of Stanley back up. In the mean time heres where i'm at, Got the front arches in, front floors, and this weekend the front panel on, quite pleased with it just need to fiddle with the door gap where i had to join the early front bottom panel on as they need blending in a little better (any tips?) well here it is in pics

Today worked continued on the Front panel, blanked off the high indicators, welded up the join where it meets the windscreen pillars, filled in bottom of A posts, tommorow trial fit front bumper, repair one seat belt mount, repair front beam then a couple of gutter repairs to do and sliding door, my list is getting shorter!!!!!!

    when did you start the resto??, I've got a feeling you have done this one in half the time its taken me .......your not going to want to give it back ;D

  9. I started it last November! it was supposed to be a tidy up but well you know how it is! thanks for the words of support much appreciated.
     
  10. Work continues! i've got a week to finish the welding on stanley then the shells getting prepped for paint! this doesn't include the sliding door which needs repair or the front beam!!!!!

    So today got seat belt passenger side welded in, indicators cut and trial fitted, headlamps trial fitted and bottom of drivers door repaired and front panel edges joggled around A posts completely and thats about it

  12. i've got a Mate whos going to paint it , so he's going to be doing that in my workshop,can't wait to see it in paint now!

  14. Got to get Stanley back on all 4 wheels tommorow so cleaned and repaired front beam, had to weld bottoms of shock towers and whilst it was off replaced Steering Pin once the vans painted i'll replaces discs, tie rods shocks detail calipers etc etc to make it all nice!
