  1. With a lot of help from the guys on here I have greased my front beam. You need a lot of clean rags before starting this job.

  2. Isn't it satisfying doing jobs yourself
    More strings to your bow

  3. Some progress today on the engine,

Fan shroud on, final fixed my cooling flaps, nearly all the tinware on, half the manifolds on, alternator in

Just waiting on one engine mount then the support beam can go on.

Should get the engine ready for install week Sunday.

Question... Should i attach the heat exchanger while the engine is out or when it's back in.

  9. Having been away for the bank holiday, I decided it was annoying not having anywhere to put bits and pieces at night. So I thought I would knock up a rough prototype unit to try out on our next outing. I plan to put a 12v usb socket in there somewhere so phone and iPad can be charged overnight.
If the whole thing works okay, then I will get a decent one made up to match our furniture when we have some made!

  10. Reasonably productive weekend. Despit having the lurgy! Made some mains leads up for the hook up. Changed push rod tube seals, swapped the petrol filters in the carbs, fitted a new mains inlet.

Not running though as stripped a rocker shaft nut!

Came back from camping Saturday managed Hereford to Winchester without going on a motorway apart from A34 which is less crap than some motorways for going fast..

Greased front beam. Discovered every rubber boot in the steering and suspension is cracked.
    £50 worth ordered from JK.

  16. Bet the new lot will be cracked in a few months
The quality of rubber parts nowadays is shocking

  20. had a spare hour so finished pulling the pins out of the pistons that didn't want to shift using a big socket and 8mm engine stud so didn't have to resort to sledge hammer, it'll put them back in as well.
I then removed a con rod through the case to check condition which wasn't to bad, don't know if I would just get away with new bearings
