  1. Replaced the Marmite NLAVW curtains in my Westy. Have gone through 2 sets of these in the past 24 months, colour fading away within days of fitting. 1st set was replaced F.O.C but clearly the quality is not there. Never again

Now fitted some nice new ones from Madmatz which hopefully are going to last a lot longer. First impressions are that they are very well made quality items.

  10. I've always wondered what mine would look like without the wheel on the front....more or less the same ( a shade of blue different maybe and no eyelids) ((oh and your wheels are shinier))

  11. Fixed fuel pipe leaks, (wrong size pipe I think), treated yet more rust then slapped some red primer on, adjusted clutch cable from 60mm play to 20mm, started engine for first time in 2 years (been at brother in laws that long), drove backwards and forwards on drive to check clutch and gear selection (best it’s ever been), found out from great people on here how fan should be wired (that I’ll do tomorrow). Good day all round! :)

  13. I booked in for an actual mechanic to spend an hour looking over my van, to see how he is. I'm hoping I won't get too long of a to do list - but the mechanic joked about me having deep pockets. So now I'm regretting this.... being female in a garage always makes me feel "stupid"

I think for a number of reasons you should seek out another mechanic.

Is there no one on here who is local who can give you an unbiased appraisal ?

  15. I'm based in Torquay, if anyone can even recommend someone genuine. I put a post on Facebook asking for recs & this place was recommended - which was actually the 2nd place I popped into today - the first was just dodgy. It's so hard to find somewhere!

  16. What’s wrong? Great people on here give good advice on how to do everything. I’ve messed about with motorbikes n cars since I was 16 but still ask questions and learn loads.

Have a go yourself, what have you got to lose?

  17. Go and see Sean or Rich at southwest splitz in Exeter, just off the M5 where it splitz (see what I did there) to Torquay/Plymouth.
