I've been sorting my van for the summer, I've gone over every panel and repaired all the rust( luckily most was surface) today I finished painting the roof and I tinted the windows, I know purists amongst us will frown but I think it looks brill, what do you think of my work, be honest good or bad[IMG]

That trim round the waisline the sticky stuff or the real deal. Looks ok. I put some adhesive stuff on mine and it lasted about an hour before i ripoed it off and binned it!

  5. Cleaned up brake drums, yet more angle grinder fun. Just letting primer dry before putting one some black n shiny.
Gotta make up a bracing arm to get those naughty little hub nuts off and then clean up the back plates and service rest of the gubbins in there.

  6. I managed an hour and a half on my beam swap yesterday before it started raining. The spindle is off on the nearside, and i started on the drivers side. I had to remove my neighbours fence panel to get to it. My drive is a tight fit for the van.
I couldn't get the caliper bolts off, so ordered an impact wrench on prime. Arrived today. :)

I've used it on 2 of my vans, someone on here first put me on to it, to be honest I've never had any of it come off , it's s right pig to get off when you want to take it off

  8. Dismantled my AFM, ordered Air/Fuel gauge and located bung in my exhaust system....exciting!

  11. Had a great run up to Perth to collect my RnR cushions from Daz & Lizzie at Deliahs's, absolutely fantastic people that produce quality work.

Also done some trail fitting of the cupboards I've had made, very happy with the way they look.

Also the buddy box in situ.

Back of pads. Top and bottom edges of pads.
No anti rattle shims fitted, I use heavier H shaped rather than + shaped springs on the pins and the edges of the pads...Slightly filed down Girling springs despite having ATE calipers.

  16. so after 27,000 miles in my bus on non load rated tyres with a very low bus i finally spent out on some goodyear extra load tyres 185/65/15 look great just on the back for now also after raising the rear x1 spline at techenders i now love how it handles and drives much better …….. "back in an hour love I'm just gonna put daisy in the garage and have a quick carling on way back………………………crash ………. what the hell was that ………. oh the skylight on the floor" …. oooops no chance of fitting in so either lower it again or it lives on the drive , its may sit nice now with these bigger tyres on but its a pain in the arse

  17. That is a shame

Can you cut grooves into the garage floor or reduce the height of the skylight?

I had the same issue years ago and reduced the height of the 'skylight' so it fitted in the garage.

  18. been looking tonight mines 9cm above roof and 4500mm square but smallest i can find is 8cm at the mo so may drop it again and with these bigger tyres should give me some clearance but gonna hold out first the garage is at its max i think I'm gonna have a play the weekend

  19. i got the same ones as u got tyre wise i found an old thread

  20. Same tyre size and same fiamma sky light.

I think you ended up with my old 'lowered' roof vent at a TE for the rubber seal
