big decision today after 6 months lack of interest from the wife now she want a say on the colour ! cream / white on top is a given .. bottom half of the van to decide on by monday am ..



bit of progress on the engine front rebored , crank down a size so ready to pickup in 2 weeks. Unfortunately cylinder heads crack found in both after the old valve seat removed so scratching my head about new heads or looking for new cores and starting agin :- :- :-

 

took the plunge mouse grey .. happy with the colour ... ordered all the door and window seals from heritage .. only got one wrong ! exciting when u get a big box of new bits ..

 

I love the colors, keep it. You(she) have good taste !

pop top back on next week as spay finished friday (that the rumour)

so ??????? if you are light handed (me plus one 18 yr old and a short 85 yr old) what is simpler ?

A/ hinges onto the pop top and then the roof of the bus ?
or B/ hinges onto the roof and then the pop top ?

I prefer B/ less paint scratched ?

 

I think id go poptop onto bus with canvas fitted to pop top
Then front lifting mechanism onto pop top then onto bus and lift
Then hinges onto bus and finally onto pop top

Taping corrugated cardboard onto certain areas can aid in reducing the amount of scratched paint


Ive not actually done it myself so others who have may have a tried and tested way

When I put the dormobile roof on my van for the first time, I put the roof cap on the roof first with no hinges, then I attached the hinges to the poptop, then I attached the hinges to the roof. If that helps?

 

Got to love that color!. Suites it to a "T". You'll be ready for touring season now. Congrats.

i have my kombi to painter waiting for his new mouse grey skin... i will paint ALL mouse gray inside and outside; only rims + bumper will be white.
is it yours exactly L325 vw color code?
