  1. coming along nicely matey well done.

  2. at the minute slow but sure , all the wee bits are doing our heads in but it will be worth it in the end owen nw :-[

  3. finally got the 2 front doors built uo and loking good , then back at the roof again , got a sheet of hard board from BQ got them to cut to size , we placed it on the inside of the roof and marked all the metal battons for drilling and pop riveting , was short of 12 rivets , but pushed on and painted the inside with ford diamond white 2k paint 2 coats , what a difference nice and bright , also got the pop top barrs bolted on , owen nw adrian

  4. In what order did you rebuild your poptop? Im thinking rivit canvas to lid, attached spring poles then rivit to bottom plastic shell then put the whole working top onto the van? Is this the right sortov order or am I making myself trouble???

My other thought was put the plastic on the van then build upwards attaching the canvas as I go but that seemed over complicated?

Also the funny rubber seel that goes into the rubber seel that goes inbetween the lid and the outer frame does that go on the top or bottom. Your pictures show it I think on the top.

I didnt pay eneough attention when i ripped them out and would hate to get them in the wrong way up! :-[

    Cheers Trev

  5. the one that goes between roof outer edege and flat roof curved piece goes to the outside so the filler piece can go in , have alook again at mine , we put the material on first then the barrs , then the inner roof cap , owen nw

  6. Thanx mate!! ;D ;D I will see how I get on!! Your pictures and thread are helping lots!! :) :)

  7. gave the inner cap an other coat of white , then bolted the spacer bars back into the roof caps , these go between the roof and the spring loaded bars to keep them level , we then lifted up the roof to the van its at this point that my 20 year old broke my sky light , after 4 years of laying about he s in 5 minutes and brakes it lol , he then looks out at me with them eyes IT WASN T ME ,
so we got it bolted into place , then we turned to the barr s that hold the material down , and painted them black , owen nw adrian and the sky light breaker
engine tin bolted into place and engine seal what a difference
