  14. went out to day , and fitted new battery fresh petrol , put on the tin wear and through in the towel , head was spinning from the wedding , so i went out and replaced the anti roll bar a nd brackets and new poly bushes on adrians xr3 ,

also i contacted zed about a problem i was haven with the trekker , wasnt going right , well to cut a long story short , this might help some else ,
trekker seamed to be of the cyclinder , got the mates to set the co air mix set the timming etc , all seemed well came out the next day seemed to smell petrol as it was leaking could nt find it started the 181 it was worse that before , i noticed after 2 3 minutes it was flooding its self quite bad , so of with the needle valve , seemed to be sticking , fitted same again , pm d zed he told me what it might be , so of again
same again , so this time i put a new carb kit on , happy days 5 minutes later same again , petrol was pouring over the top of the carb flooding again ,
phoned the mate who builds engines , he went throught the same as what zed told me ,
bought a brand new carb , same again , then it would nt start ,
put in more petrol thinking it was out of fuel , put on an in line fuel filter , same again, it was driving me mad ,
could nt get it to run right then again not at all , phoned the mate billy ,
he came up , its out of fuel , no says i i put 3 litres in yesterday , it was empty ,
he noticed it was parked on the sloping drive , ah he said your fuel pump is the problem its diofram is fecked , it letting the petrol gravity feed cause its on the hill and flooding the engine its then pouring straight in to the engines oil , so i dipped the oil and it was full of all the pertol , so changed the pump oil more fresh petrol and away it went , turns out the carb wasnt even needed and it was £150 , ye live and learn owen nw

  15. you must have spent a fortune on petrol recently ;D

glad they were both easy fixes :D

  16. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Never thought of split diaphram Owen (ooer missus). I think it would do it on a hill or on the flat though, the pump's lower than the tank outlet - gravity primed.

  17. zed it happened to me before but i thought naw could nt be done all the stuff you said no bother , but still its done now cheers owen nw ;)
