  8. Great news you got it sorted. Be prepared for a lovely warm smug feeling as you quickly become all toasty in your van after you switch it on, Makes a massive difference to comfort. I can recommend underslung LPG tanks too. It costs 75p a litre to fill up and lasts ages. Ours powers the cooker and propex very nicely.

  11. I would have thought so. Mine came with it fitted (Westy) and its 8 inches from ground to underside of the bash plate protecting the tank. Mine's standard height. As you can see below there is decent space and you could mount it a bit tighter to the bus and take a centimetre or two out of the bash plate to tank distance. You can probably pick up a tank second hand. GoWesty in the states supply them new.

Filling is very easy, you do it at a petrol station that sells auto gas. You do need an adapter to convert USA spec Westy connectors like mine to UK bayonet but they are pretty easy to get. I can send pis if you are interested. A typical refill costs me £3 and it was only £7 to fill the 9 litre tank from bone dry empty. The yellow cover on the left is over the filler bayonet.

  16. This is what it looks like. Screws onto the threaded bayonet of the westy tank and the UK auto gas bayonet simply twists on and locks. You then hold the fill button on the autogas pump till it stops pumping cos its full and job's done. You then go a hand over your £3 or so and the person behind the counter says "Is that all you need?" in an incredulous voice.

www.gasure.co.uk/adaptors.htm do them (its the top one)

Here are a couple of pics of mine
