Hi guys, some of you may know I've recently fitted a propex hs2000 in my bus. I tested it prior to floor placement and then again once I had it set in the correct position on the floor both times it ran fine and produced lots of warm air. I then left it overnight with the air inlet and exhaust pipes laying underneath the bus. The next day I fitted the pipes to the underside of the bus and then turned the propex on. The fan comes on and then the burner ignites for about 4 seconds then stops. The flame light on the thermostat box flashes 5 times, which according to the book is a combustion air fault. I've checked the pipes for blockages, there's plenty of air flow out of the exhaust when the fan is on and I've cut the air intake pipe really short so I know that's not blocked. The leisure battery is fully charged and the gas is on. Anyone had these issues before or any ideas how to get it working? Cheers
dont know much but i have my booklet here if i can help but you have more likely got your one sorry didnt read al you have already checked the flashes
Ok its probably not that then Try firing up the propex whilst the bus engine is running and see what happens
Make sure exhaust pipe is pointing down , mine played up like yours and the only thing that I'd done was secure the exhaust pipe slightly higher than when it was fitted , as soon as I moved it back it was fine
Is your regulator a propane one? red? It does say in the destructions that neither of the pipes should be cut shorter than the 3/4m provided? (though i'm not sure how critical that is?)
Empty some of the gas out in a well ventilated area. My cooker unit had problems which in turn was because the bottle was over filled. They need an air space within the bottle. Due to the safety features of propex, this will prevent it from igniting because it can't supply enough gas. I thought this was all rubbish when I took my gas bottle back. Well blow me, a short burst of gas out and it was all working again.
