has anyone who is using the 30 odd year old westy one had it tested? i took mine off as i was unsure how long they remain "safe" after all it's a pressure vessel.....

ok cheers - i'll maybe have a look over yours if you come to techenders - i don't like the look of the tank but the space gain inside would be nice.

I used my westy tank for a while and it was great. Very cheap to fill etc. I got an adapter from gassure for £30.

However i did have a couple of leaks at different times and this made me get rid of it. LPG is heavier than air, and i could not sleep easy with the thought of my awning filling up with gas. More so now that my oldest lad sleeps out there now.

  9. That looks practical! Had mine there originally but mines a walkthrough. Diferent model of heater (old X1) so the other way around. Got so peed off not being able to demist/frost one winter I removed the totem and took the fexi up to where the plastic bits at the top are. Demists were a doddle but feet a bit chilly. Should have put a Tee in it.

  11. With you lot talking about the underslung tanks to run your propex and cooker has got me thinking

We're hoping to put a lpg conversion on the bus to run it from. If/when we get that far is there any reason we can't T into the pipe from the tank feeding the engine to bring a feed inside to run cooker and propex?

It would make sense from a practical point of view if we could run it all from the same tank so the propex and cooker will use the same amount of gas where ever it comes from ;)

The other question i've got is does the propex have to be run flat or can it be put on its side?

  12. LPG tank makes sens. You cant put a Propex upside down or vertical but they work great on a slope. Mines on the sloping bit under the rear seat and is ace.

  15. Thats not unreasonable. Daily drivers are reliable - and they dont seem to rot as quickly. Leave em stood .... death knell! Mine doesnt look too bad but doesnt bear close scrutiny.

Forgot to ask - where did the screen come from? Good price?

you can get tanks with 2 outlets one for vapour and one for liquid.
A small issue is you pay duty on it if you use it for the engine but you don't need to for cooking not that it make much diffrence
