Return it to whatever condition you had it when it last ran. Ignore the fault lights, they may be wrong. Usual issues are battery terminal voltage too low (do you definately know this is ok) stick a charger on it whilst operating the heater. Secondly gas pressure too low is next favourite issue. Have experienced cut out when inlet is sucking up exhaust fumes but got to be running in the first place for that to occur. Suggest pipe lengths might be red herring. Is an issue but not that much. What controls does it have on it? Can it be run with the stat bypassed to eliminate that?
Think you need to put it back to how it was prior to it not working. I have had an issue in the past where the gas valve has stuck. Remedy wasnt overly technical ie gave it a whack! (probably not helpful!)
Right I've cracked it. I set out this morning and first I checked the gas flow and fitting everything was fine. Next I changed the position of the flue under the van, tested it, still no worky. I then did as Birdy suggested and ripped the sucker out. The propex now comes as standard with a aluminium pipe for the flue and a flimsy foil pipe for the air intake. They used to supply 2 Ali pipes but are obviously scrimping on costs. As I bought another 2 metre pipe for the flue I used the supplied Ali pipe for the air intake. Tested it and yippee it worked. I then fitted it all back into the floor which was a massive head ache due to my choice of placement, which was ok when I first fitted it but now I had two Ali pipes to try and shimmy under a piece of angle that a PO had welded in for the front seats. Pain in the ring. I then tested it about another four times as I secured each pipe under the van etc. I'm glad to say its all working fine now. Note to anyone thinking of fitting a propex now or in the future...... DO NOT SHORTEN THE AIR INTAKE PIPE! Also if like me you have a tintop with no cabinets or furniture except for a rock and roll bed, and use your bus for your daily,so would like heat in the cab as well as back. Please give it plenty of thought cos there's loads of obstacles to avoid In the front, brake lines, front beam etc plus you'll need to shell out for a longer flu. It's much easier/quicker and less stressy to stick it under the rock and roll bed or in a cabinet if you have them. Thanks to everyone who offered advice and suggestions I think I've karma'd everyone. Dave hangover wins the prize for guessing the problem
