That's going to look well good I reckon. Would love something like this so I could do away with some of the un-useable storage space I've got! Let me know if you want to start selling them when you're done!
My workbench, as always, is almost as clean as an operating theatre. Not shown in the picture however is the shed floor which is knee deep in little pieces of funny shaped wood. It looks a bit like a coral reef but without the fish, seaweed and water.
Have you ever tried routing in a confined space? I was still sweeping up a year after making my interior. The dust bag filled up in 2 seconds flat so I chucked it and let nature take it's course.
I've got a calmer one now but when I got my Dads old router it didn't have a soft start and it used to scare me to death. If you listened when it was running you could hear it screaming "I WANT YOUR FINGERS" and sometimes it shouted "I'M GONNA RIP YOUR BOWELS OUT". I took a great deal of pleasure in chucking the damn thing in the bin.
Check, I've also bought three cheapy ratchet straps for pulling the plywood laminations round the frame.
I've always called them frame clamps. I've removed the three corner pieces so I can use them as a strap clamp.
just one thang bob , you do realise you havnt , made the wine rack yet and will you be making one of those hand luggage size fings , beware 45deg camberz
@sANDYbAY and me There's at least 2 peeps that want now so you better get making And the best thing is they should go straight in to mine and @Baysearcher's van
Well the die has been cast, and the glue is drying... I wonder what I'll get when I take the clamps off.
Luckily not. Fail No 1 I'd put thin spacer in the gaps between the door and cupboard before gluing the first lamination. Some glue must have spread because one of the spacers won't come out. Fail No 2 When I'd been practicing I could cut the door from the frame using my fretsaw. Unfortunately I hadn't thought about the sides of the cupboard which are now attached. So I had to make all four cuts the hard way...
Glued the second lamination on this morning and then cut the door out after it had dried, refitted the hinges and tried it loose in the bus. So it still needs a catch and a handle as well as a checkstrap to limit how far it opens. Once the roof is finally refitted permanently I'll also make backs for the four cupboards. I may also make inserts to hold our cup, glasses and tea and coffee etc. I'm going to paint the five supports gloss black and cover the cupboards with this Formica veneer. So, only three more to go.
Are they anti-gravity cupboards Bob? Or are you going to hang things in them only they don't appear to have a base to stand things on? In case that sounded a bit rude... They look fabulous - you know I'm a big fan of your interior.
