I dont think a lot of it is being "flattened". Some of the moveable arenas are actually going to Rio for the games in 2016 so they're not wasted. We could leave the main stadium as an olympic stadium (as it was intended), but as history dictates it'll probably be another 100 years ish until London sees a local games again, it probably wouldnt stand the test of time. Look at whats happened to the stadiums in Beijing. They're literally falling apart as there was no planned use for them after the games. I have zero interest in football, but if they can sell a club the stadium then happy days. Atleast it wont just be left to collapse like the ones in Beijing.
