We got the cable car most of the way up there then rode the last couple of km, I knew we weren't going to just turn and ride back down what we'd ridden up but the shear thousands of feet behind scared the scrap out of me. After picking our way carefully for a few hundred metres it started to become more rideable and turned into the best decent I've ever ridden, just went on and on quality scary single track.
So please, as you're high in the Alps, what anti-freeze would you recommend for a scoobey engined bus? No doubt the oil is 5-30W synthetic or should be.
Been reading your fab blog and found myself fascinated by the VERY specific graphic instructions of how to sit on an eco loo. What's the difference between the first crossed out pic and the last one? No hovering? What happens if you get it wrong? Are your innards sucked out when you poussez le boton? Are the contents shot under high pressure to hit the roof and rain down on you?
24deg to 5deg in 20min I've even seen short skirts with stilettos...very amusing. Cable cars amazing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The anti freeze recommended to me by Halfords was the pink stuff - Fellows Speed were adamant it should be the blue so I've gone with the blue. And yes 5-30W. (Incidentally I saw the thread about tents on the roof - yours must be the best bay set up I've ever seen)
Funny, I got more comments about the toilet shot than anything I've ever posted on my blog! I can't answer your question because I did everything as per the instructions. But my mind was boggling too!
So did you make it back ok or did you come off the side of an Alp in the ice? Last blog post was Jan 11...
Yes thanks - made it back. Just washed all the salt and grime off. (The van, not me). About to order new windscreen wiper arms and a new headlight (got smashed by a stone). Posted a blog and now getting ready to do it all again in March. Hoping to get someone to come with me...
Good blog matey enjoyed reading it, wish I had the time to do such adventures, after my hip op I think too late to start skiing .... I still wonder if you'd have been so adventurous with an air cooled engine?
Thanks a lot. Only got time now because I am retired. I was happy with my air cooled engine and I still don't go that fast. Think I just feel a bit more confident that the Scooby will not let me down. (Although my 1600 never let me down either)
Welcome back. Kept up with the blog. You had a few worried on here when you went quiet for a few days.
Enjoyed the blog - thanks for writing that. I have to say though, it does sound a bit sketchy driving back on those icy roads. Still can't believe you did this trip without the proper tyres on, but i know i'm starting to sound like a stuck record I'll just leave this here: https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres-185-80-14/?s[0]=W&s[1]=W&s[2]=G&orderby=prix
