Off to the French Alps tomorrow

  1. Thanks but I really don't know. The first trip we did with the conversion was to follow the Tour de France through the Pyrenees etc and I wondered then if the 1600 would have coped. We used the 1600 for a lot of other trips and it never let me down, really, and I enjoyed the fact that I understood it and could fix minor issues. Not got a scooby doo with this one!

  2. @Gingerbus In my reply I was trying to say don't worry about hijacking the thread - that set up you've got looks just amazing and has given me fresh hope. Hats off to you!

I think it looks very messy but I've not had a problem since, compared to many, many incidents with loose fuses, broken fuse caps and slow blows on torpedoes, then fiddling around breaking replacements etc.
I did drop a dashboard clip onto the light switch and the blown LED fuse was easy to spot immediately and change. I'm happy that it's safer than it used to be.

Looking forward to more blog posts, hope the snow is good! Didn't make a trip last year for the first time in decades and missing it badly. Top marks for braving the temp in a tin tent!

  7. Ooh. Just seen a European weather forecast. There's quite a bit of it around. Snooowww...
Greece and turkey so far but heading your way, can you tell?

  8. I've never done that in the Alps but those tracks look brilliant for mountain biking - and you take them up in the telecabine! You must have a good quality bike - full suspension etc?

  14. We visited Chamonix on a July day drip out of Geneva a couple of years ago. My wife called in to the Mt Blanc cable car ticket office for prices but was advised not to, as she was wearing a short denim skirt and flipflops..............
