We have lights We also have brakes not much left to do now... a few odds n sods, and finish polishing the paint!!
Cheers dude todays installment for you guys!! Had a Rusty Lee RnR bed turn up on tuesday, so today was installing time... had to drill the tubs as the old seat belt points had rusted out and been welded up... I also dropped in the new static rear belts Took all of 45 minutes to get it all in And as the fuel gauge was reading 3/4 on an empty tank, I pulled the tank.. And as a new one was on order, I thought I'd pull the old sender apart to see what was going on with it (and I was interested to see how it worked) Resistor wire was all loose, and the float is actually seized at the bottom Then I emptied all of the crud out of the fuel tank.. And some carpet turned up today from mad matz And that's it for today... Neil is down tomorrow with the wheels and the engine, and hopefully the last bits will turn up with the courier
Neil popped down today with some parts for the van... New shoes And the engine... I modded the oil pump cover, as CB had a cnc fail with a batch, and the pulley was fouling it!! Dropped in the front indicators Next job is working out how to mount the engine brace bar, as the case is a bug/non bay one, so it doesn't have the mounting lugs!!
My engine is a bug case on a standard bus brace bar it uses an off the shelf adapter dude but i cant remember the supplier I can get some pics if you like?
adapter won't work with the in/out oil pump cover dude!! need to do a little head scratching to come up with a solution!!
Slow day today... had to go out n do some shopping but I started nibbling away at the engine mounting... So I took a std engine mounting braket for modifying a bug block into a bay and decided the best plan of action was to chop it up I started by chopping the lower mount section off, and bolted it to the case!! Then I drilled and tapped the case where the case is normally drilled for bay applications... Next I took a part of the left over mounting bracket, bent it and welded it to the mounting bar I'll add a web to it once I've got some hoses made up for the external filter Just got the RH mount to sort, and it'll be there And some bling rings turned up in the post!! Look good to me
Cheers Scotty today i dropped back in the fuel tank, connected the fuel lines to the electric pump, put some new hose on all the breathers, and sprayed some cavity wax under the tank, and around the sides over the wheel tubs Then I moved back on to the engine mounting And dropped the exhaust header on to check clearances!!
Im liking the kosmics, look very good - stance is just right too! Para, earlier bays had a smaller fuel tank to the later bays - Iggles 73 takes much less fuel to fill his tank than our westy
So after a couple of days off over the bank holiday, I've been back on it.... doing lots of little jobs, so here's a quick photo summary Dropped in the new filter head Leisure battery ready for hooking up once the engine it in!! New main battery - Bosch silver top 096 Getting the engine tinned up - had to pull the heads and push rod tubes, as Neil hadn't popped the deflector plates under the cylinders - Whoops Carbs on Fuel line in place... P clipped to the back of the fan shroud!! New steering wheel from Fifty Six Deluxe New HB handle Firewall in, new acc cable, clutch release bearing Up early in the morning to get the engine in... want to make sure the new oil lines are the right length... if they're not, I've only got until midday to get them fixed!! Poss engine started tomorrow afternoon!!
New steering wheel from Fifty Six Deluxe The wheel is from royal county auto supplys, I dealt with a guy called Colin who was superb to deal with, highly reccomend these guys
