To be honest I am not sure there is a difference in fact I have heard a rumour that Whale own propex! I went to a local motorhome company to have a good look around to get some inspiration and noticed all the heaters where Whale so asked one of the mechanics there and he said that majority of conversions have propex but all new bespoke vehicles have Whale as they are a more commercial option. What that means I am not sure! Spec of my whale electric gas heater is 2 kw output, same as a propex
Wow just caught up with this.... well done you, you've done such a fantastic job! Can't wait to see it after paint xxx
Thanks tiny pie! Still got a long way to go before it starts to look anything as good as yours but that is my aim!
Well it has been an interesting couple of weeks, to cut a long story short I ended up completely renewing camshaft and crankshaft bearings, along with big end shells. Then rebuilt the engine and put heads back on! So engine all ready to go now, have started to strip the paint off the tin work ready to get it powder coated in Matt black! Drivers side bodywork is now ready for primer filler!
I know how you feel It takes me an absolute age to get tinware to the point where i can lay a coat of etch primer on it Then theres the wet sanding inbetween coats of colour Still its cheaper than paying for it to be powder coated and gives me somthing dub related to do to keep my interest up
Thanks fella! Well spotted they are indeed and PO removed the steel inserts to get them to fit ! Luckily somebody else on here at the beginning of my resto pointed it out to me so I have a brand new set of steels waiting to go on once the painting has been done!
Finished cleaning tinware and have now repaired all the rusty bits and the hole that had been cut in by PO Have found a great bloke to do powder coating and cos I have got most of the paint off only gonna charge £65.00 to £75.00 for the lot in satin black! Thanks Daz in Northampton!
So I have tinware back and have made a start on putting it all back on! Also fitted thermostat ready! J Tubes in place! Mated up exhaust system to make sure it fits......... And it doesn't!! Flanges on J tubes appear to be approx 10 to 15mm rotated out of alignment. Of course this could be the j tubes or the exhaust but have managed to torsion up enough to get the bolts in so thinking that once the engine has ran and the exhaust heats up it should take a lot of the spring out of it!
Thanks I bought it second hand from another late Bayer oooop north, was made originally by turbo Thomas!! It is very nice, I am very pleased with it
