  1. Looks great, what did you use to paint the underside. That's my next job. Any tips on the easiest way to clean the underside and old under seal off?

  2. Cheers man,
I used 2k black paint from ebay. Its only like £15 for a litre.
Yeah its a crap job, but basically i laid a bit of old carpet down under the front on the bus, put some overalls on and a face mask, then used paint thinners in a jug, got a pan scrubbing brush set from tesco for a quid, then used the brushes to scrub the old underseal off with thinners.
Its messy but works well, then i used one of those £4 angle grinder wire brushes to clean off the rest, then lastly a paint stripping disc just to go over the rusty bits.

De-grease, rust treat, etch, high build then paint :)

What this bus needs is a big phat shiny exhaust. :D

  4. Hahaha it does! And it hopefully will have at some point :)

  5. Today's update.

  6. I'll fit the pedal levers tomorrow then hopefully I can get another coat on the beam, fit the steering arm on and get ready to stick the beam back in place.

Super nice underneath! Are you going to be able to take it out into the real world without worrying?

Haha yeah only if the bloody thing ever gets going.

  9. Are you under sealing after you have fitted everything back on?

Got a second coat on the beam early this morning.

Then decided to clean up and paint the main beam bolts. Can't afford a new set at like £30!

  11. Then I moved onto fitting the pedals arms back in, new brake return spring.. Was a bitch to get it in! Not hooked in in the below pic..

    And the clutch pedal arm..

Then after the paint was dry enough, I got the steering arm fitted, along with the steering damper..

  12. I've sprayed a very thin coat of underseal with waxoyl, that's why the shine from the paint has gone dull. The only thing is that when I'm working under there I keep touching it by accident.

  13. Ok quick question for anyone that wants to answer.. I've lost the bottom tap-on cap that goes on the bottom of the steering pin.. What happens if I don't fit it? As I'm pretty sure you can't buy them :/.

It's a dust cap, dirt will get in and wear the bottom bush. Without frequent greasing it may seize. Annoying having to buy a whole kit, but you can buy the bushes separately, so why not the cap?

  15. Yeah figured as much! What a Illegitimate child! I got the pin fitted by balls'd, so it's probably knocking around their workshop. Might give them a bell tomorrow. Any ideas what I could do if not? :/

Use a core plug with a small hole drilled in the centre: http://www.coreplugs.co.uk/
