It looks like I'm in a minority but I like the 12v JK blower.

As long as you are reasonable in your expectations from it.

I run mine in the morning (if frozen) for a few minutes and it will clear it slowly, and keep it clear. It's only 12v and it only small so will only clear a a small area.

It's not going to kill a battery if it a healthy and appropriately sized.

It can't compete with or replace a fully functional heating system.

  4. Buy an Eberspacher. It'll melt your socks...

  6. Looks good - think Danbury fit something similar to Brazilian busses, lashed to the heat riser at the front.

  11. The original heating is underrated, people can never be bothered to make it work, and it's really not that hard or expensive, especially if you have rust free heater cores.

I have an Eberspacher heater in my bus, but this doesn't substitute the original heating.
And it's NOT TRUE what many people say, that this heating never worked properly out of the factory, belive me, it worked very well when it was new.

There are three common problems with your heating.

    1. someone changed the heaters with J-pipes because they wanted a custom exhaust or they were too expensive to replace.

    2. The Y-shaped tin piece that connects the heaters to the central duct has rusted out on top and is letting all the heat out. To replace or mend, you have to take the engine and gearbox out.

    3. The central duct is broken or mice and/or other small animals have blocked it with nesting crap.

Depending on the time from when the heating has stopped working for any of the above reasons in the buses lifetime, the rest of the heating ducting, fans and parts were often removed out of uselessness in the meantime.

i've still got to get over to nedfaux to fetch some bits off him and i appologise totally for not making firm dates with him, once i see what i get plus what i can swap off mine with the exchangers i have in the shed i'll decide if i'm going to bite the bullet and buy all the bits to complete it front to rear....my van has the vents under the rear seats but i'm thinking of simplifying the system and just going from the exchangers straight to the front vents only thus giving out the most i can get to the screen, this will become another of the to do jobs over the winter lie up so for the next few months that i plan to use the van (oct/nov/dec) i'll just have to make do with de-icer and warm clothes, once i take it all apart i don't wanna fart about so it will be done indoors up on jacks during the winter.

  13. When i bought my bus ricky the standard heating was so hot it felt like my eyes were burning

Mines a 1600 tp and being a panel van conversion the ducting just goes straight to the cab theres no vents in the rear at all

  15. How is it blocked off dude?

Take pics of each part of your bus where there should be heating components and im sure we can help you fill in the missing gaps

It really is worth re instating it
