Loss of Oil, Noise and Vibration!

  1. Well your case is savable... Just needs a line bore, crank will probably need a grind too

But nothing that is too much of an issue!!

I'm actually driving past Lincoln this week.. albeit on the A1... if you want me to pop in for a look/chat?

  2. I think after the cost of getting that done and the new parts I need to buy I'm thinking a professionally built engine with warranty is the way ahead.

  3. ....but thank you for the offer.

I agree. I suspect any old thing will do based on the gamble you'll only cover 3,000 miles in the 12 months... I could make one from crap I was going to chuck that would get that far.

    Ouchio!

  12. My head is in a real spin with all this now. So many options. The more research I do the more in a muddle I get (and I'm not daft either, RAF (about to be CPL) aircraft tech you know) with it all.
What I'm going to do is give the engine to Cav from Revesby garage to look at. He did all my welding for my MOT earlyer this year and did a craking job. I'd be happy to do it myself if it was a simple case of replace parts and rebuild, but there is damage to be sorted and I can't do it so I want a trust worthy person whos work I've seen.

But if anybody want to have a look at it and give their view they can.

  13. After speaking to Cav last night, he is going to look through what he has case and crank wise and go from there pricing up an engine build from him. Due to the wear and damage I described in my case, crank and bearings.
    Finally have a way forward.
