  1. Spare is a little low on tread but better than the back wheel.

  2. Kushti bok for the mot dude

  3. Good luck :)

  4. Is the spare tyre on your wedge the same size;)

  5. Yep, but its the original michelin x from 1988 and its flat, crazed and nearly bald.

  6. Water tank now insulated with foil covered bubblewrap:

and a thermostat and on/off switch fitted to the 12v side.

Also gave the old girl a clean to rid her of the bird poo.

  7. Finally got around to sorting the sloppy accelerator pedal and found part of a gate hinge.

Removed hinge and cut out the grottyness:

Welded a bit of steel in to fill the hole:

    And seam sealed it:

Before the rain came and i had to pack up.

  8. Drilled a couple of holes in the floor for the pedal hinge:

    Bolted hinge to the floor:

  9. Got pedal bolted back on:

    Mat put back down.

  10. Fitted a new westfalia towball cover.:)

  11. Poking with a screwdriver is never a good idea.
Chassis leg looked solid before with just a couple of blisters in the paint until a pre MOT stabbing session did this.

    A bit of cutting
    [IMG]

and even more until i finally hit good metal.

Today i got the repair bits i made welded in.:D
    [IMG]

  12. Given everything a coat of red oxide and tried to get some inside the chassis leg too. Will paint with satin black next then underseal it.

  13. Just needs some underseal now.

Got this bit of rot cut out too...
and had some fresh 2mm steel welded in.

  14. Looking Great!

  15. Cheers. Very happy with how it turned out and its much more solid now. :)

I just need to refit the anti roll bar and the speedo cable now as they got in the way while cutting out the grot. Looking forwards to giving it a run out next weekend as its not been off the drive since last september.

  16. I managed to snag a front mudflap on a block of concrete while reversing into the drive which resulted in it ripping a large chunk of outrigger off aswell.:(
Cut out the grot to find very little solid metal.

Made myself an outrigger/jacking point and welded it in.

Its gonna need sills next year so will do it properly with bought panels then.

  17. Took the dashboard top out today to get a better look ak the windscreen frame inner panel.
    This is the 'good' side:

Passengers side is a lot worse. :(
    [IMG]

You really shouldn't be able to see the window rubber.

Not quite sure how to repair this. Can't afford a new inner and outer front panel at the moment. The dashboard was holding some of the inner front panel in place. I dug out a ton of silicone sealant which someone thought would do the job. :(

  18. Wiper motor was missing its mounting bolt and rubber washer so was just held in place with the spindles. Maybe that explains the clonk every time the wipers moved.
Any idea what size bolt should be there? Looks like M6 thread.

50% of the inner skin is missing and probably 25% of the outer too.:(
    [IMG]

Windscreen mounting panel is just about hanging on on one end.

  19. Got some new carpets fitted in the back:

And matching front mats too. :)

All homemade by me. Just need some binding on the edges but not gonna pay the £30 my local carpet place wanted to charge.

Got a 45w solar panel cheap off the club 80-90 so its going on the roofrack.

Just need to make up some mounting brackets, fit the regulator and run the cables now.

  20. After my little brake failure last week i've been removing all the shoddy old steel brake lines and cleaning stuff up ready to install my new kunifer ones.
Removed the brake proportioning valve to see if it worked. I can hear the ball rolling inside it when its shaken so at least i know its not seized solid. ;)
Gave it a clean up, a coat of vactan and then a coat of red oxide primer.

Will give it a coat of some gloss black once its dried.
