  1. Got the bottom of the B pillar welded in:

I've found a little patch of rot in the corner of the side panel where it meets the B pillar. The seam is a rather odd shape so i'm not sure how to repair it.

On the positive side its quite warm in my work area now the wind isn't whistling through it.:)

  2. Got a bit more welded in today.
Not a lot, but every bit is another step towards getting it done.;)

Sorted a bit behind the back arch for a little change too.

  3. Sill welded up.

With a bit of filler it should look OK. Not going for perfection which is good. Just solid and useable.

  4. Had my dad over to stay for the weekend so didn't get chance to do much more but today i finally got the arch repair welded in and skimmed with filller.

Also repaired a couple of small holes behind the rear arch where mud had stuck to the back of the panel and eaten its way out.

  5. Bloody angle grinder has ate its brushes.
It only lasted 13 months (1 month outside its guarantee) too.

I've now got a pile of 6 broken ones from the past 4 years and none are the same so i can't mix and match parts.

  6. I bought 2 recently, a dewalt and a cheapo one from screwfix to save swapping over between cutting, grinding discs and the wire brush all the time. The cheapo one has died already and will be going back!

  7. I was thinking the same yesterday as i changed disc types for the hundredth time yesterday

    Nice work Zebedee

  8. Thanks. Got given a bosch one off a mate today but its got a dicky switch. My other bosch one failed with the same problem.

  9. I went blow up so many grinders doing mine and my other cars did 2 in 5 weeks ones ( was going hard on them )
Now I have a makita and its doing well got it for about 35 from boc on offer

  10. Got a little patch on the inner valance to still weld up today and then its onto panel prep, filler sanding, a coat of rex oxide then some blue paint.:)

Theres some patches of flaky underseal on the chassis rails but the rest still seems solid.

  11. Had to repair the bumper mounting bolts on the deformation panel today as the captive nuts were no longer attached to the panel.

Luckily I had a deformation panel cut off a rotten van that I could use for bits.:)

  12. Cut out a dent and some rot and filled the resulting hole.

Corner of deformation panel replaced with section cut off a donor panel.

    I'm quite happy with that.:D

  13. Did a little painting today.
Deformation panel in topcoat, with the underside in chassis black and underseal.

Front arch and B pillar looks a helluva lot better than it did a few weeks back.

Both back arches are now repaired and painted:

When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.;)

  14. Managed to fix my angle grinder now i've not got a use for it on the camper.
Superglued the wires back into the brushes and used a spring from a couple of ballpoint pens and its works as it should again.

Need a new tyre for the back wheel as its perished from sitting around for so long which is a shame as theres stil 9mm tread on it. :(
