I think if all the gold is actually counted up, most countries will find they have not got the gold it thinks it has.

If you buy gold you don't tend to actually get a gold bar in the post, you get a paper certificate.

If selling off gold is the only thing opposing parties have against Gordon Brown over a 12 year period I think he must have done a decent enough job.

Just as a aside most people I know (mainly construction) made the most money they ever have during the Blair years.
