  1. glass blowing? that's it....... NURSE? NURSE?

  2. Well i'v got the plans to a round brick tower, i'll send them to you, just turn them upside down, it should be the same :)

  3. Get a ground survey done or use a dowser. They work. Then get a hole drilled and pipes/pump inserted, filtration system and tank and pump to give you mains pressure. Jobs a good un. Should cost around £3k. Payback in 4 or 5 years so worth doing if you have water on your land.

My other half did a glass blowing course. I'll ask her for some advice
    :)

I have actually dug a couple of wells tbh. There is a knack to it and it's a really rewarding job if done right.

Do you know if we are all meeting in the barn at dubfreeze on the saturday night?

  5. Barn? What is this Barn you speak of? We might be late (or early) how do we find it?

There is a barn by the side of the hall with a bar- usually very cold but they have beer and stuff like what bars do - just a place to meet later.

  7. Its the way to find how deep summat is.
For instance, you are dowsing for a drain and say its 3 feet below the surface. As you walk towards it there ll be a medium response 3 feet away from the drain and then a strong response directly above the drain. Carry on away from the drain there ll be another medium response another 3 feet from the drain. If all 3 tally up as above there's your drain deffo, if there's some discrepancy, its in that area. Don't know how it works on a water table, but the bloke I knew was a dowser for the police and used it a lot.

We built next door to a guy that sank his own 12 meter deep (so he says) well in his garden. The guy is a naturist and did all his digging starkers. The people that bought the 2 houses that were side on to him got a nice surprise during their first summer:eek:

Oh yeah he sat concrete rings on top of each over and dug the middle out and dug under the edge of the rings, hence sinking the well!

A circle of bricks was how we did it 6 ft across and no mortar just brill how they lock up, never move an inch!

  16. Likewise but then I sailed with a guy just like Wolowitz too....very clever but once down the gangway nothing was safe.

Sorry can't help with the Well problem....spent most of my life keeping the wet stuff out.

  17. a pump can only pull water up 33.9 feet otherwise it boils thats why you must put the pump at the bottom of the well.
My cousin had a bore hole, I went round his house when he was watering the lawn using a sprinkler supplied and he said you didn't drive through the spray did you. The water had an extremely high mineral content and would leave white marks all over your car.

  18. Not strictly true ,you can buy a pump that has a cooling jacket on it to stop this happening but then it also depends what type of pump and what material the pump is made from whether it be a rotary type, a reciprocating type ,a glandless type , sealess type run by magnets or what ever,,,,,,, so .................... you need to know your pump the viscosity of the liquid working tolerences etc etc before you can actually say what head you can pump at ..................

  19. Absolutely textbook:D
