How do you build a " well " and how do you know how deep you have to go before you get water.

Is the water free or should you pay someone something for it?

I know the first part of the question but not the legality's of the second part!

  2. Depends on the water table I would imagine ,will be different everywhere ?

To dig a well get a big spade and dig a hole and then keep going until you hit water, until you hit the water it is just called a hole, something i think i may have dug myself in with this answer.

  18. When digging a well you will need a way of getting fresh air in
As carbon dioxide is heavier than air you eventually fill the hole your digging full of carbon dioxide and suffocate
