A/ life is busy so understand that B/Alf would love camping - Anna just runs around meeting her new best friends for that minute. he'd have a ball.
I've got a 2ltr forester complete car 79000 mls service history mot till next year clutch slipping still drives if your interested
I normally cruise at about 60 (about 3500rpm) I think 70 takes it to about 4000rpm. Guessing a bit as my speedo is in kilometres
You have a shorter final drive as well. You can change the FD and bring all of the gears up while keeping the same relationship between them, or add a longer 4th to increase 4th only, or both. If you get a longer 4th, it makes for a big gap 3rd to 4th. You will be cruising at lower revs and the smaller engine may suffer from the long 4th meaning more frequent down changes.
Is this easy to do and/or expensive? Its not for the moment but I've seriously been considering the Scooby option for a while
Depends what you need. A Scooby will pull the longer FD and longer 4th, over a grand to get it all done dependent on what else they find wrong.
Not sure I have understood this question but the fourth gear will be extended. (Isn't this the FD?) I will keep the 3 rib box
The final drive is the reduction in the transaxle, this will increase the ratio of all gears. The longer 4th is just that, only 4th increased. Both together should give you around 19.5 mph per 1000 revs in 4th with stock tyres.
Another silly Scooby question, when you get the Scooby engine fitted do you keep the diagnostics from the donor engine to help with fault finding on the Scooby engine.
Yep. Mine has a bulb holder next to the ECU. Any problems, you put a bulb in and it gives you a fault code via a series of flashes. These are easily then found online. (At least thats the theory; I've never actually had a problem)
