I don't think they touch gearboxes themselves. As far as I know they just take it out and ship it to Bears?
They do all the Fellows Subarugears work too. What sort of rpm difference do they expect from the longer 4th?
To be honest I don't know but I would hope to do about 10mph more for the same rpm on motorways. I'll let you know.
The main bearing cage self destructed on mine, presumably it had never had to cope with 7-8,000 rpm before.
There's a ej22 on ebay at the moment: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-LE...732477?hash=item51e04162bd:g:W3kAAOSwPc9Wwe3v But old and well used. It would probably need to be rebuilt. Thinking of having your 6rib rebuilt?
Nah, I wouldn't bother. If I was going to throw any more money at the bus, it'd be a new interior and a subarugears box. As I barely use it, I'll probably do neither!
We've thought about it a few times mate, but as asking prices are all over the shop, I wouldn't really know where to start. If it doesn't get used much next year it'll probably go.
I thought you probably were! I remember you saying you'd almost bought it before I did. Its a great bus, I just wish it got used more!
if it did come up then it would be nice to keep it in the family...wouldn't it? Id better start saving me pennies just in case!
I've even thought about just moth-balling it for Alf to have in about 15 years time. Trouble is, I don't reckon todays kids will ever actually learn to drive!
We could but: A) There always seems to be something else on B) I think we've got the fear about taking Alf camping and him potentially screaming all night!
