Caterham has announced that management of the Caterham team has been handed over to the administrator in order to allow it to continue operating.

A brief statement issued this morning reads:

Following a request of yesterday evening at 21.55hrs CET from Caterham Sports Limited's administrators and the legal advisors of Mr Tony Fernandes' related EXIM Bank, representatives of 1MRT/Caterham F1 Team have agreed, with all rights reserved, to hand-over management of the Caterham F1 Team to the administrator Mr Finbarr O'Connell in the higher interest of allowing the team to continue operating and preparing for the next events.

So that's the team and not the company that supplies the cars?

Looks like it as the ownership was never properly transferred from Tony Fernandes

Oh Bernie the angel! It keeps the messy business of administration off his grid and makes him look good. If Bernie was that bothered he has much more money and power to make things happen.

Wow, new competition for the wooden spoon!

  12. My friend's hubby works there and it seems the general feeling is 'this is the end'! Think it will take a miracle for them to get back on track (soz for pun!) given the complexity of the situation. Even the workers don't know what's going on! Quite sad, really!

Theoretically Bernie is now in Breach of Contract.
FOM has contracted to have a minimum of 20 cars starting each GP.

  14. This is why he was suggesting teams go to three cars each for next year as he could see the lower teams struggling.

  15. Marussia are in administration :(

  16. Marrussia have been placed into administration and will definitely miss Austin, no word on the other races yet but it looks like the end of the road:(

    That's a massive shame

  19. There's some talk that they have at least had offers made for them, but it's another question whether they are realistic or not.

<stirpot> Throwing another thought in to tie a few rumours together... Alonso... maybe the reason he hasn't announced where he's going is because the team/ownership is not yet in existence, or rather is still in existence as Marussia? </stirpot>
