  1. Yeah, I don't think that will happen either @Razzyh. As far as Alonso goes I reckon you need to follow the money - when you know where that is, that is where you'll find Alonso I suspect.

ETA - by where's the money, I mean money to invest in a championship winning car and team, not just how much Alonso will be paid (on re-reading I realised what I wrote came across badly!). I reckon it's a championship he wants now before he quits, and you couldn't pay him enough money in the world to drive for a team he didn't think would make it.

I think what alonso earns in a year (or wants to earn) is roughly a small teams entire budget.

British-Indians Baljinder Sohi and Sonny Kaushal, who made their fortune in the steel industry, say they "have put in a serious offer" to save Marussia from administration

    &

F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone says teams have signed contracts agreeing to help competitors which get into financial trouble by supplying a car to them.

That's been on the cards for some time, Christian Horner mentioned it about 6 weeks ago & said they would pick which race to do this from so as to maximise the chances of Vettel coming back through the field into a decent points paying position.

@rickyrooo1 I think you'll find that the share offering will be over subscribed, these Ferrari owners will all want a piece of the action & the chance to say that they are one of the companies owners ;)
    I'd do the same

0700 Monday morning, I'm hoping that our clients won't want an early start after 2 big days over the weekend, they aren't actually booked in but might extend for another day. I doubt if I'll see any of the practice sessions but will be up to see Quali on Sunday morning at 0500 before I go to work.

Just in time for the eponymous F14T to be mothballed :)

Interesting from Alonso today "My own future is very low priority at the moment in my opinion." o_O

  14. Alonso wants to get into Mercedes - but there is no room for him there with both Hammi and Rosie booked to end of 2015 at least - unless Bernie brings in 3 car teams.

And thats exactly the problem with the proposed 3 car system. The likes of Mercedes, RB, Ferrari and McLaren would cherry pick the best drivers leaving the other teams to run the journeymen and rookies, we would effectively end up with a 2 league system just like there are only ever about 4 clubs with a chance of winning the premier league. The financial gap would just get bigger and bigger.

If a rule was introduced that limited the 3rd seat to young drivers who only have a limited amount of experience (say under 25 years old and no more than 30 GP's at the start of the season) this would help to create a talent pipeline and encourage teams to develop their young driver programs.
