  1. Are you guys commenting on the wrong thread?......:burp:

....who knew...apparently these engines need diesel to run ....

then she started ....run... and then runaway....

Hoping that ive saved it in time as i didn't go bang.....

    More bad times :(

Tomorrow im getting the angle grinder out......:theforce:

  2. So today while faffing about i pushed the drivers door closed a bit to hard not realizing that i had an extension lead hanging out ..

    This was the result

Guess the filler didnt like it

    So, i cut stuff

  3. Just noticed but are you running the engine at 50 degrees (like in a T25) with the 20 degree sump and oil pickup? If so the oil pickup will be barely in the oil.

  4. I had 'modified' the pick it so it was angled down more, but with the orginal sump the oil was sitting a lot higher anyway, hence the problem..
    Bugger..

  5. so, i wanted to do something like this......

Only there's too much that needs moving around including re designing the steering,

So with that shelved for a while i had to re-do what i had... but a bit better

I wanted to use a passat rad and use it's aircon rad for the chargecooler.. Only the outlets stick out to far and when cut down need to be tig'd ( beyond me).... so had to revert back to the scooby rad

and then with the main rad and proper bodge fan

You may notice the excessive amount of cable ties used, well it's not staying and im running out of time...also ive noticed black hammerite hides a multitude of sins :D
Ive made up a thin alloy sheet cover, then two different insulation sheets cover that and finally a mk1 golf donated it's bonnet and has been cannibalized for an outer cover.. but couldn't finish off just yet as i cant find the top hose for the rad...

Oh engines been out, gearbox off, adapter plate off. Then sump on, plate and gearbox back together and lifted back into place... grief..

    Made these little things..

    To attach these...

    That go here..

    and here..

Ive also re-done the exhaust , after going out in my mates T25 tdi with flipped box and standard td back box realized my puny audi center box wouldnt be up to the job... Only the brackets were still wet so no pics yet..

  6. One step forward, three back............... :smt009

Ran out of welding gas about two weeks ago, i dont have an account anywhere so have been searching around for somewhere that will refill without... no joy.... so got some gas less flux wire, only it wont feed through the inner liner for the welder and have had to order a new one... which turned up this afternoon

    In the mean time...

Ive been searching for a t4 under floor rear heater to sit in this space
    [IMG]
only they're going for silly money so for the time being settled for a mk2 polo..

( still not finished the plastic pipe work)

and apart from finding some horrendous body work, 8-10mm of body filler for side sills nothing really has changed...

Tomorrow im going to turn the key again and see what happens ..

  7. ....And it ran away again.. so ive messed up somewhere else, more likely the wiring for the throttle...

Had the ump at this point and went back to the body work..

It had a lovely five mm build of fibreglass then coated in nearly ten mm of filler, they had put a lot of effort into bodging this up...

But for the time being the build is on hold... It wont be done for the holiday and will have to use the emergency back up money ive got left from the sale of the gearbox to buy a car( was hoping to help fund towards airride.)
On my bike ride home yesterday afternoon i was hit by a lorry, obviously it wasnt serious as im posting now. But i got a slap on the back of me head and pretty bruised down one side, i cant walk at present so bed bound for the time being..... This sucks..

  8. Lol things just got worse
Got a call from the hospital saying they missed it yesterday but ive got a fractured pelvis.....

So, ive spent the last two days on the computer bored and just faffing about.
Started looking at possible car candidates for the holiday, but dont want to spend a great deal as it's going as soon as we get back and stumbled upon a cheap A4 tdi avant only five miles away on ebay .
The guy has his full name as his user so i decide to check him out on facebook. Turns out we have two mutual friends, one being my mate with the T25. I message him saying how well do you know this guy and the car in question?... Turns out to be his step dad  ..

There's now a silver audi outside my house, with added delivery miles

  9. I might've missed it.... but how the fook have you managed to break your pelvis??

  13. I doubt i'll get compo as the driver didnt stop... nor did the next 20-30 cars...

It happened just after the barrier ends, i dragged myself over to the curb and just lay there and was lucky a good Samaritan finally stopped ...

After seeing a road rage programme the other day i was thinking about getting a helmet cam.... as well as a helmet ...

I'd report this to the police as a hit and run, there's cameras so they could find the driver :)

Not so much for compo, but because he should've stopped. He could of killed you!

    Do you go on VZi?
Theres a guy on there with access to the highways agency camera network.
Not sure how long footage is stored though.

Surely not seeing you counts towards driving without due care and attention.

Good luck but more importantly a speedy recovery.

  19. Well im back........... but maybe not for long...

Now this could be the end... or a new beginning ..
