I'm glad. No one likes a lonely Brillo pad!

  13. Course is not. .. You don't want the Brillo pad to rust and impact the strength of the repair!

  14. Fantastic thread, that brillo Marmite is scary - how people can knowingly do that and then sell it on is beyond me. Good luck with the resto.

Now I guess you're back at work I guess it means I'll need to wait a while for the next instalment! Bloody hell it's going to be worse than Game of Thrones!

Got three more days of full on work on her before I go back to the day job! :) look out for tomorrow's instalment! Here's what got done today! New chassis rail shaped in and rear crossmember welded in place!

  16. Lookin good...

  17. image.jpg :chewie:Another day at it, Rear post was shaped and tacked in, test fitted inner rear valance, scraped of the last of the underseal with help from my lady, and did a test coat of red oxide see if it would react with the small bits of residue left behind, seemed successful :burp:2 more full days at it then back to evenings!

  18. It's taking shape...

Are you treating the rusty metal before painting
or is red oxide good enough..?

  19. Only testing with the red oxide on the underseal residue just to see, but I will be using a rust treatment before properly painting :)

  20. Would you care to name the garage that did the MoT, so others can avoid it...fair do's when something minor isn't picked up, but missing/loose driveshaft bolts could put you into the hedge very easily.....shame on the tester...glad you survived the trip home....and good luck with the resto:thumbsup:
