    Old English sheepdog ?

  2. I'm totally with Tiny Pie on this one. Go down to your dog rescue centre, choose a young one that you like the look/size/character of and chances are you will be happy. If it's a mongrel all the better.

Your right about owners we felt rotten sending the Patterdale back and were very hard on ourselve's about it but we later found the out the owner had really belted this dog about and mistreated him in many ways , we should have found him another home , he wasn't right for us but we knew this because we are lifelong dog owners and they have all lived to a ripe old age .

  7. Only two choices for me,

Either a Kerry blue terrier or an Airedale terrier, both very loyal easy to train. My Kerry would die for me or any of the kids.

Good excuse for a photo 8)

He's never out of the garage either, just doesn't like compressed air

  8. Springer spaniel , a couple of years ago I'd have said Labrador but we've got one and he's brilliant even if he is a greedy so and so
Just make sure you see pups parents so you get the right size for you

  9. According to that test a bichon is 100% match lol... probs due to my allergies...

I love all dogs, the thing I think is great is that people find dogs that suit them...how about we do a dog loan and lend our dogs to zed for weekends away with him to see if he falls in love ;)

Between us all we cover a lot of breeds it seems he he x

  10. You need a short haired terrier but not anything with jack russel in it

  11. Border terrier sorted ;) lol

Got to agree with the rescue comments... they spent a lot of time with us making sure the pairing was right. We did go in with whippet /greyhound in mind and ended up with an 18 month saluki cross. House trained, with a few issues but none that couldn't be worked out by new owners.

You mentioned whippets before, which i thought would suit your needs well. lazy days, need a good run / walk once a day. small, relatively un-hairy... BEADY EYES!! :)

But you have to live with the dog for the next 15 years so your choice!
