Going to a small rescue and speaking with volunteers is great as there are plenty of dogs I can assure you that don't misbehave... Haha especially not jumping on all 4s... Staffys are great, short haired, don't malt like labs do and are great with all people...and pretty small too... I love them Collies can be a handful, but are lovely... I had a dobie on e very strong willed just like pur weimaraner now (who is a bloody nightmare and wpuldnt torture them with a buster) Labs are fantasic but malt a lot, but temperament wise couldn't be beaten Hmmm I.guess its upto you in the long run... But I love my rescue dogs and wouldn't change them for the world x
Haha v true... My sisters is... Mine isn't he's just cute but he's a cross... Erm... Struggling to think of short haired.terriers l...always been a big dog person..... Hmmm have you any breed your leaning towards?
How about a Fox Terrier? No bias here, as I have Airedales (as most people here know) but I'm being tempted into getting Deerhounds as well

I'd get a fox terrier. Looked into getting one myself but we got a shih tzu in the end and he's awesome.
