Ah yes, the 70's, the decade that style forgot.
I'm a child of the 60's & there seemed to be an awful amount of bad music coming out in the 70's, then there was that abomination that was called disco.
Mind you there were some cracking good times in the 70's & 80's until AIDS came along & spoiled it all.

  8. I'm also born in the sixties and all I can remember of the seventies is power cuts, Slade, Queen and TISWAS. Not sure if that's a good thing or I'm going senile.

True but they all came out of the 60's, most of the 70's bands were rubbish until punk came along.

Now you're talking my real era 76/77 and then it was over.

  18. I'm a 70's child and I turned out normal....................ish.

Thinking further about this, the 70's may have had some dire music but compared to the dross that's coming out of the so-called "talent shows" today it was a hotbed of creativity & taste.

Why do you need new bands? Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974. It's a scientific fact........ Homer Simpson

  20. Can't see how to do a multi quote but,

Allegro's; were not Leyland but Austin and they were never cool in their day, they are only a little bit cool now in an ironic sort of way.
And 'well weird'; My friend Richard Faulks was recorded in 1979 speaking the first ever usage of a predecessor of this phrase, 'well parking' it was a monumental moment.
