Cheaper repaint

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by paradox, Mar 30, 2013.

  1. Ok im in thinking mode again

Ive noticed of late that there are a few people who want there bus paint to be a bit nicer
There not after show winning body and paint work more just for there bus to look respectable and tidy

A full proper respray is an expensive option for most

I was wondering if people would be interested in a roller paintjob using good quality coach enamel?

Tractor paint looks good on your detailing but have never seen it look good on a whole car tbh - people used to use it in the 70s on cars and vans

  14. Well when i do a whole vehicle ill post the pics to show you how good it can be

Ive seen painters make the most smoothest paint finish on skirting boards using gloss and ive seen a lot more skirting boards with runs and brush strokes on them

Its not the product its the care and attention of the person applying it

I've seen roller paint finishes and they look quite awful. A home respray and some elbow grease gets a far better finish.

  16. Fair enough from what you and malc have seen before

I suppose the proof is in the finish then and ive a lot of preset worry to overcome

I do belive that for a thousand pound i can give a better finish than a backstreet bodyshop using 2k paint at the same price

My dad is a old school painter and decorator of fifty years and has hand painted all of his vans , they look great but there is something missing when you study them - never new what , but defo something o_O

  18. I'm not a painter by any means but surely if theres enough to flat n polish up you can get a good finish using anything?

Rolls Royce hand painted all their vehicles until the 50s , paint flat , paint flat , paint flat , paint - cut , paint cut , paint cut .

that's the same approach BR used in the early 60's when my Dad was at Derby Loco Works!
