At some point in this thread I am going to try and do a comprehensive list of the differences, until then I need more input like that @matt
Point taken. The 72 bit only mattered last year when the 72 was tax free - and that is when they began making them
well at 7 pages so far and no stupid arguing it seems some of us are interested, so if you're not jog on.
Should the motor have 2 speeds or is that the switch? mine has two parking places on the switch, but only one speed!
The motor doesn't really have a speed as such, it works through resistance. Trikky2 on eb can tell you the science behind how it works But there should be two speeds
mine has two speeds but it doesnt have much power , but it is 40 years old , but some things over forty have more power .
Mine was built on 18th December 1972 and shipped to Australia as a CKD. It has petrol flap, key in sliding door lock, wash and wipe stalk, grey centre to KMP dials and exposed seam by deformation panel. The guy who used to look after my bus said he had had to weld extra material onto something on rear brakes ( so presume spreader bar ? ) and that getting a replacement steering wheel would be a problem because of splines...but to be fair have never looked into it further.
Curious. Mine look thee same as in @Barneyrubble photo. It has 4 positions on the stalk, 2 speeds, stop and then down to a spare. I wonder if this was for intermittent on some other model?
